Remove or Change Background

By the process of clipping, which means releasing objects from their backgrounds, disturbing or unsatisfying backgrounds can be removed or edited.

For this purpose, the contours of the object, that shall be preserved, are carefully traced. A so called clipping path is created, which is the starting point for further editing. Here, one distinguishes between partial and total clipping. In the latter case, the background is completely removed and replaced by a white or transparent one or the clipped object is transferred into another picture. Whereas partial clipping means that the background of a picture is softened or blurred in order to turn the spotlight on the clipped object.

Clipping is often used for product photos for online shops and catalogues    as well as for photo motives in advertising or icons and logos for websites. In other words: Every time you need an object detached from its background or you want to edit them separately from each other. Due to Soft-Masking it even works for detailed and challenging motives such as fur, hair or smoke.
