Correct Exposure Errors

Errors that come into existence due to adverse lighting conditions or false camera settings, can usually be corrected effectively by the means of digital image editing.

Professional image editing software has a lot to offer in terms of subsequent optimization of colours and brightness. While laymen follow their visual impressions, experts also have a look into the 'inner values' of a picture, for instance by checking the histogram function for tonal values and their distribution. After analysing the picture and possible colour errors, tools such as dodge, burn, sponge or brush can be used for darkening or brightening and precise colour corrections.

Either whole pictures or single areas of an image can be darkened or brightened, colour deviations can be corrected and contrasts can be optimized.
